Described as “a tremendous virtuoso” by renowned pianist Matti Raekallio, the Chinese concert pianist and doctoral candidate Brian Yuebing Lin enjoys a multi-faceted career of not only high-profile performances across four continents, but also as a frequent lecturer and music educator, a co-founder of a media hub, and as an award-winning financial pundit.
Mr. Lin first gained national attention as one of only 20 young artists in the United States to receive the $100,000 Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Arts Award. Since then, he has performed on stages across the United States, China, Canada, Korea, France, Australia, and Russia. On the competitive circuit, Mr. Lin earned first-prize finishes at both the Virginia Waring as well as the Lennox International Piano Competitions, and took Third Prize in the Houston Symphony’s Ima Hogg International Competition, for which he was featured in the Houston Chronicle.
Mr. Lin wears many hats outside performance: As an educator, Lin has given lectures and masterclasses frequently in the Unites States and in China. Outside music, he has become a self-taught financial writer, winning prominent fintech outlet Seeking Alpha’s “Stock for The Summer Of 2018” Online Competition. Finally, he is the proud co-founder of Piano League, a multi-platform media outlet.
Brian Lin is currently based in New York City while pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, and holds Bachelor and Master of Music Diplomas from The Juilliard School.
Looking forward to seeing you on Monday, March 7th at 2 pm!
